WACSOF, deepening regional integration and fostering stability and development in West Africa
 

 

MR. RAFAuwal Ibrahim MUSA (Rafsanjani) is currently the Acting General Secretary of the West African Civil Society forum (WACSOF). He is a Political Scientist from Bayero University Kano-Nigeria, with many international courses. He is a Human Rights, Anti-Corruption, Policy and Legislative Advocacy Activist interested in positive transformation of Nigeria and Africa. Auwal Musa is also the Executive Director of Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre (CISLAC) www.cislacnigeria.net,as well as the Chairman, Zero Corruption Coalition (ZCC). Likewise, he is serving as the  National contact  of Transparency International and a coordinating committee member representing Sub African region  on  Civil Society Coalition on the  United Nations Convention Against Corruption  www.uncaccoalition.org/en/about-us/coordination-committee.

 Auwal was a founding Executive Committee Member of the Transition Monitoring Group (TMG), 1998-2000. Also an Executive Committee Member of the Transition Monitoring Group (TMG)Publicity Secretary 2008-2012

Auwal Musa (Rafsanjani) has many years of experience in the areas of Extractive revenue transparency, Anti-corruption, Human Rights, Gender, Environment, and Budget activism as well as rich Legislative advocacy capacity. He is a board member of many reputable organizations, including Amnesty International (Nigeria).

Before he became the Executive Director of CISLAC, Mr. Auwal had worked with the Community Action for Popular Participation (CAPP) as a Programme Officer where he led projects on Community Development and Human Rights. He then moved to the Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD), during this period he led projects on diverse areas on Legislative /Policy Advocacy, Local Democracy, Good Governance, Constitutionalism and Development.  

Mr. Auwal on the International level has gained considerable experience on training programmes and has also written many articles as well as being a regular public commentator of Newspapers, Radio, TV e.g. Al-Jazeera, CNN, BBC, NTA, AIT, TVC, Channel TV, VOA, Radio Germany, Radio France and Radio Iran, FRCN etc, both in Hausa and English languages.

He was a delegate at the National Conference in Nigeria 2014 representing Civil Society.

Peter Chidi UGBAJE is currently the Head of Finance at the WACSOF Regional Secretariat. He holds a Diploma in Accounting from University of Abuja (Nigeria). He also has a B.Sc. in Accounting from Enugu State University of Science and Technology, Enugu (Nigeria) and is a member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ACA). He worked as an accountant in manufacturing sector where he gained extensive experience in corporate Financial Management. He also worked briefly with Office of The Auditor-General for The Federation, Federal Republic of Nigeria before moving to financial sector where he worked with Atlas Microfinance Bank Ltd. as an internal auditor and internal control officer. He acquired a wealth of experience in management and audit of financial institutions. He has a good training and enormous experience in fraud management and investigation. He has consulted for various organizations on financial and management matters.

Olumide FATUKASI is the Finance Officer at the Regional Secretariat of WACSOF. He has worked at the then ECOWAS Secretariat, Abuja. He holds accounting degree from the Ado Ekiti University.He had a short stint in the banking sector.

Sola FOLAYAN is currently a Programs Officer at the WACSOF Regional Secretariat. She holds a Master degree in Peace and Conflicts Studies from University of Ibadan and a Bachelor Degree in Linguistics from Adekunle Ajasin University, Ondo State. She has a particular interest in working for humanity and the development sector and was involved in various Disaster Management projects spanning mitigation, preparedness and recovery in the humanitarian sector at the Nigerian Red Cross Society. She has also worked as a research intern at the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution, developing early warning mechanisms and academic papers for the peace and security sector in Nigeria. As a youth advocate, she is a member of the World Youth Parliament on Water and World Youth Alliance. She comes with varied experience in programs planning, implementation, early warning mechanism, research and reporting.

  Uche MADUEKE is currently the Media Relations Officer at the WACSOF Regional Secretariat, Abuja. She holds a degree in Mass Communication, Diploma in Law and has undergone Basic Journalism training at the Institute of Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN Lagos. She is presently studying English as a second degree at the National Open University of Nigeria.

Uche had worked as a marketer with Gold Shield Resource Ltd, Lagos, and while in the media sector as a reporter and presenter with Aso Radio and Television Services, Abuja. She has a good skill in reporting and has organized several fruitful media conferences for various organizations.

 Emile Bela KOUAKOU is currently a Program Officer at WACSOF Secretariat in Abuja. Prior to joining WACSOF, Emile was working with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) office in Cote d’Ivoire as Programs Officer.

Earlier before, he has worked with a bunch of international development-oriented organizations in West Africa including the United Nations Mission in Cote d’Ivoire, the African Institute for Economic and Social Development in Burkina Faso and the West Africa Civil Society Institute in Ghana under its competitive ‘Next Generation Internship’ program benefitting two best youth leaders from across West Africa, yearly.

He is an alumni of the United Nations Alliance of Civilization and Education First’s (UNAOC-EF) joint program for global best youth leaders in the USA. Emile has outstanding experience in international cooperation and development, development program management, private sector development, administrative management, organizational communication, civil society capacity building and research.

He is fluent in both French and English and holds a Master’s Degree in American studies and in Ethics and Governance from the University of Cote d’Ivoire and the West African School for Moral and Political Sciences, respectively.

OcheniSalifuOcheni SALIFU is an Office Assistant at the WACSOF Regional Secretariat, Abuja. He has a Diploma in Arabic and Islamic Studies from  Kano State Polytechnic.
